Petition updateYARCOBR RIGHT TO VOTE ON CAPITAL EXPENDITURES

OWNER, LOTTY INSELBERG SPEAKS OUT

This is the letter I wrote responding to an I Building note critical of Jack Fox and his conversation with Jory Kesten.

While I can recognize the pros and cons of demolishing and rebuilding vs. renovating and improving, I support renovating and improving. As a 20 plus full time resident, I am disturbed by the lack of trust and hostility in our community. The changes took place mostly when the last vote to not demolish the Chickee Bar and Clubhouse took place and was not respected.

Yes, rats invested the Chickee Bar, the Falcon Report listed clubhouse deficits and the pandemic resulted in Zoom meetings which curtailed debate from the community.

From the beginning a committee consisting of owners with expertise in the building and real estate field plus representatives representing both sides should have been formed.

The committee might have, with give and take, come out with a plan that resulted in greater agreement and less hostility. Instead we do have a lot of distrust at YARCOBR. Even now with all that has happened we ignore the experts living here, such as Mr. Mancini who offered to help. Nor do we discuss publicly the many points of concern Mr. Kekklas wrote about.

We live in a nation where too many do not trust the results of the election of the President of the United States. Why would we not want to do all we can to increase trust. In the past we had confidential voting and representatives from both point of views present. Why at this time would we not include what had always worked well for everyone. I believe Mr. Fox expressed an opinion of a large part of our community to Mr. Kesten. He was attacked for speaking out and he struck back. Until we can have a more open forum, these letters should go to the whole community.

Regardless of the way the vote goes, we should have a committee of experts and different opinions to work on a plan, with give and take, to assure the Clubhouse is better than it had ever been. Only in this way will we been to repair the damage done to the soul of YARCABR.

  Sincerely, Lotty Inselberg
