I think Lotty’s email is expressing the opinion of the majority of the Club’s owners from both sides.
I say “both sides” because sadly we have become divided yet until quite recently this was not recognised by our Club executives.
My wife (Susan) and I have lived at the Club about sixteen years and we thought for most of that time that we had found a utopia where everyone was family; we seem to have lost or perhaps just mislaid that wonderful feeling.
We are English and spend half of each year in the Club, we always looked to the USA as the foremost leader in Democracy but that notion of the Club being both Democratic and honest has been damaged by the governing of our Club and the hostility of its residents following the inauguration of our current executive and the manner it has chosen to provide us with an improved YARCOBR; a place we loved and called home.
I’m not suggesting that everything was hunky-dory before this current Board took over, nor am I suggesting that they haven't worked very hard for what they believed were our best interests but we have a situation now which nobody is happy with.
I am not wise enough to profess that I have a solution or a magic wand to make us one cohesive family again but I am a preservationist, I can recognise that which is good and that which is not.
I am fully in favour of continual improvement in our Club but I am personally in favour of retaining and improving our current clubhouse for a number of reasons but perhaps foremost that it holds a lot of happy memories for us and can be better than ever without overspending and without too much lengthy disruption.
Therefore I should like to see us all returning to our old clubhouse (renovated and improved) as one happy family and as soon as possible.
I hope this view does not offend as it is offered only to show my feelings as an individual but ones I believe are shared by the majority of our fellow friends, neighbours and residents.
