The Issue

It is just unfathomable to believe that our beloved Twitter, a social media platform known and used by millions worldwide, has now been rebranded to 'X.' This change strikes me and many others as utterly absurd. Twitter has always been perfect the way it has been – simple, memorable, and familiar. It's inexplicable why anyone would opt to replace such an iconic name with an impersonal, generic one like 'X.'

To many of us who have cherished and utilized Twitter for news, social networking, and high-stakes dialogue, this abrupt change seems to disregard our feelings and interactions with the platform. In a Harris Poll survey, Twitter has been consistently ranked as one of the most recognizable brand names in the world, which further emphasizes the damage this name change inflicts on its brand identity.

While we understand the need for companies to evolve and keep up with changing times, discarding such a highly regarded brand name appears irrational and unnecessary. With this petition, we are on a mission to bring back the name that has been a part of our social networking journey for years: Twitter, a name that commands respect and familiarity instead of ambiguity.

Please help us to restore Twitter to its original name by signing this petition. Your signature could be influential in preserving the Twitter legacy that we hold dear.
