The Wynnum Manly Rugby League Club are contemplating using the Kougari Oval for a carpark. Carpark will attract more cars, increase pollution and probably result in increasing the number of gambling activities due to increased capacity.

Kougari Oval is the homeground for the Seagulls Rugby players who have been playing there since 1967.

Many families in the area are passionate about their oval and don’t want it dug up for a car park.

There is a possibility that they will be moving the players to Kitchener Park, but doing so will result in local children having nowhere to play.
