Tonight at 7pm - Time to Stand Up! Woodbury City Hall - Stop putting profits over people

Tonight is the night!
This evening at 7pm, the Planning commission will be meeting and making their recommendation, based on OUR INPUT, whether or not to RE-ZONE this plot to a HIGH-DENSITY zone. Thus, moving /or not moving this high-density property forward. The current zoning is R1, meaning that a single home should be built here. The developer wants to rezone so that they can maximize their profits and build 111 units.
Putting their Profits over the People of our community.
As a reminder, people in the room do not need to fill out speaker cards, and are just there to show the Commission that they CARE ENOUGH about the project TO SHOW UP and give 1-2 hours of their time. I can't stress enough how important it will be, to fill the room with people who care about this project.
Last time we had a full house, and IT MADE A DIFFERENCE as there is no longer an apartment building planned. However, the same number of units – 111! - are still being planned; which overcrowds our schools, causing school boarders to be redrawn, roads and parks being congested and compounds the already stressed water usage for the city.
It comes down to this meeting – We can’t stress enough how important your support will be during this time as the planning commissioners will be on making their final recommendation to the city council.
It’s the final countdown! Keep our neighborhood as is. Come out and show your support to keep this a low-density neighborhood – as it was always intended to be.
Following tonight’s Planning Commission meeting, there will be a subsequent required public hearing conducted by the City Council on November 30th at 7:00 p.m. This meeting will be the LAST meeting on this project. Please plan to come to this meeting as well - Again, there’s no need to speak if you don’t want to. Your presence in the room will speak volumes and will make all the difference on whether or not this project gets passed. Both meetings will take place at the Woodbury City Hall at 8301 Valley Creek Road.
