Petition updateStop the Copper Ridge 9 Rental Development- Woodbury, MN
Recap from September 9th meeting
Rachel FrandrupUnited States

Sep 26, 2022
Attached image is a revised layout of townhomes. These units could be rented or sold to homeowners. The developer is non-committal at this point.
There are now 111 units vs the 109 units noted within the original mailed communication. 111 units would the same number of units shown with the apartment / townhome layout from before.
Here’s the summery of feedback provide from the attendees to the developer / city planners:
- Too many homes are being built on this small parcel of land
- Too little open space
- Traffic and noise concerns
- Single point of entry / exit onto Bailey Lake rd. is a concern, for the above reasons and for safety reasons
- Desire for more communication from city to residents
- Rezoning concerns - city statue states that the CURRENT infrastructure must be able to support new development; we don't believe that is the case with current schools being at capacity and city roadways / roundabouts already causing issues to residents
- Woodbury City code section 24-43 outlines several criteria for granting approval of Conditional Use permits (used for rezoning), part B, states that the proposed use shall not negatively impact the health, safety and general welfare of occupants of surrounding lands. Part C states that existing infrastructure shall be able to absorb the additional demand for public services such as utilities, streets, parks, schools, etc.
Next meeting date – Not provided, but they stated that they would send emails and letters to those who have previously requested them.
