10 years ago at every sporting event every race even heats 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th received ribbons aswell as finalists and all children got competitor ribbons. This gave more children chances to try hard and receive recognition for there efforts and gain confidence in getting a place ribbon!

Over the last few years each carnival swimming, sports days etc less kids receive ribbons winners or places of heats aren't given ribbons, only a chance to compete in a final.

The Swimming carnival has gone from children swimming across the pool in each little race getting a chance to receive a ribbon To now today Juniors who swam 25m tried there best to place didn't receive ribbons or acknowledgement for there efforts. No ribbons at all in the junior swimming carnival it wasn't a race as it was being called looking more like a practice not even gaining point for placing towards there house team totals?.

A number of parents have stopped attending these events. So after speaking to a number of parents throughout the last year we have decided to petition to Mr Mac and Mrs Tognini to bring back the ribbons!!!

I did discuss the issue with Mrs Tognini at sports day and as a parent whos watched the steady decline in atmosphere and kids smiles at these events. I am standing up and saying let's go back to the way it was!
