It is important to challenge the failures of the Council to meet its obligations in efficiently providing Community Care, Children & Families Support and in dealing with Housing Benefit claims and Safeguarding Concerns, etc, 

It is also important to understand that the Front Line Staff are doing the best they can with what they have available and the restrictions placed upon them by Managers at various levels.

The main constraint is funding and the most important funding comes from central government. ||The rest comes from Domestic and Business Rates. As we know, Central Government Funding is in trouble and local Rates are a challenge to a lot of people on low income, or whose businesses are struggling.

My main concern is for the lack of transparency regarding funding and staffing levels and the serious impact that has on all the council's services. Staff are restricted in what they can tell you for fear of being disciplined. Many of them can see the impact upon the services they are trying to provide.

Many Staff also fear taking time off for ill health (including due to stressful overload) as they can be disciplined and sanctioned for taking too much time off. The need people to speak up for them also (as we do for under staffed and  overworked NHS Services)

By signing this petition you are challenging the Powers that Be to declare the shortfalls in funding that affect the services they are providing. These need to be declared to Wiltshire Councilors who then (along with Wiltshire Senior Officers) to report these shortfalls to Central Government.

Please Sign the Petition to get at the truth and start the process of improving our local Community Services. |Current situation is negligent of the community and largely abusive to many staff (who are gagged|). Some staff are (of course) just Jobsworths and play alone. That is the same everywhere and the genuine staff take up the slack.
