The Castle Cove library is widely used by the local community.

The library has been closed since March and the council has no plans yet to reopen. Chatswood library has reopened but other Willoughby library branches remain closed. All Northern Beaches and Ku-ring-gai libraries have reopened. 

The Castle Cove library is well loved by students, pre-schoolers and adults including elderly Castle Cove residents. Getting to Chatswood library to borrow and return books is difficult for many of these groups. The library also ran regular Friday story times for pre-schoolers and has a community use space. 

Now that cases of COVID-19 in NSW are low I feel it is the right time to reopen the library with COVID-19 safe practices. As rate payers the library is one of the few services the council provides to Castle Cove.
