With this year being one of the most stressful and hectic years for many of us, many Ontario universities are extending their winter breaks by a week. Online schooling is new to many of us and has been very difficult for some students to get used to. We think that we all deserve a break from all the stress we've been experiencing throughout this semester. As well, in terms of COVID-19, this prolonged period of time would give students the chance to quarantine safely without missing any schoolwork and would keep the whole community safe. This would also provide faculty and staff members extra time to prepare their courses for the second term. After a burdensome year, it would be great to have some extra time to spend with our families and friends back at home. This extended break would benefit Western University as they'd be promoting the health and wellbeing of their students and faculty members.
