We As an American citizens should be deeply concerned about the safety of our nation, I believe it is imperative that we focus more on the American people just as much as the Ukrainian war and the vast amounts of tax payers money being spent in other countries ,we should absolutely for health & safety concerns should have access to bunkers, fallout shelters, and bomb shelters. Our Constitution is meant to serve and protect us, both publicly and privately. In the event of a severe threat such as a nuclear attack or similar catastrophe, we currently lack adequate shelter-in-place options.

There has been the construction of many public fallout shelters; however, most have been abandoned or repurposed over time. According to FEMA's 2018 National Preparedness Report, only 39% of Americans feel confident in their community's emergency preparedness capabilities (FEMA.gov). This statistic highlights a significant gap in our national security infrastructure, it’s 2024 and we still lack emergency preparedness . 

We must  motivate the The United States Government to prioritize the construction and maintenance of these critical facilities to ensure that every citizen—regardless of age or family status—has access to safe refuge during times of crisis.
