Waverley Council: Please provide an enclosed Dog Park

The issue

Every suburb should have at least one Dog Park to provide local residents with a safe space for our dogs exercise and socialise, yet there are no Dog Parks in the eastern suburbs!

A Dog Park differs from existing 'off-leash areas’ as it is fully enclosed. By being fully enclosed and fenced, this provides benefits both for dogs and their owners, as well as, for those who don't want to interact with off leash dogs.

For dogs and their owners, having fully enclosed Dog Park allows dogs to play in a safe environment away from cars and other hazards.

For the broader community, providing a secure, designated space for dogs to exercise leash free can help avoid potential conflict between off leash dogs and other activities in parks such as children's playgrounds, BBQ/picnic areas, and sports fields.

Everyone can feel safer.

Other Councils already provide fully enclosed Dog Parks for their communities, including Bayside Council, Inner West Council, Lane Cove Council, Hills Shire Council and yet Waverley Council, with the highest population density, is without this very helpful amenity.

If you're a dog owner that wants a designated exercise area for your companion or you just like the idea of dogs in a secure, fenced area, please show Council your support by signing this petition and share with others

Thank you!
