Hello! We're taking this food waste petition right to Walmart's headquarters on July 20! Read on to see why I need your help real quick with the campaign to get Walmart to sell this "ugly" produce.
The good news is more than 140,000 consumers have signed our Change.org petition and many of you contributed to the crowdfunding campaign to support a petition delivery. I've raised enough funding to pay for a flight, rental car, and printing materials to make sure this message is hand delivered to Walmart's headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas this week.
We're already generating some great media interest from national media outlets so stay tuned for updates on how it goes.
Even better news, Walmart definitely knows about the petition and seems open to finally having a discussion with me about why ugly produce should be sold in its stores.
I appreciate it because the whole point all along has been to engage in a discussion and help them make this possible. Together, we can take a huge step to ending food waste.
This petition is about being positive and offering solutions for farmers, customers, and businesses.
While Walmart has indicated an interest in speaking in person, I've yet to receive the final confirmation.
Can you do me a favor and send them a quick message on Twitter? Remember the goal is to be polite and positive so we can support their efforts to do the right thing.
All you have to do is click here.
