There is overwhelming evidence of the negative health impacts associated with breathing in wood smoke.  The combination of PM2.5 particles and the large array of toxic chemicals generated when wood is burnt makes wood burning a significant and very dangerous air-borne pollutant.

Many people in the ever increasing density of Melbourne suburbs are adversely affected and their health significantly compromised by the wood smoke emitted from their neighbours wood heater.

I, like many other 'wood-smoke sufferers', think it is time that the Victorian State Government banned wood heaters completely!

This could be the beginning of a process to vastly improve the air-quality of Melbourne generally.  Including the establishment of a 'Right to Clean Air-Law' in our State as suggested by the Centre for Air Pollution, energy and health research.

Please support this petition to help clean-up our air-quality and make being in our Melbourne suburban back-yards 'SMOKE-FREE', enjoyable, but most of all, healthy. 

Remember, this is not just for the health of this generation, but also for our childrens too.

 I implore the Victorian State Government to listen to the scientific evidence and put the health of Victorians first.  Ban wood heaters in all suburban settings NOW!
