Dear Supporters,
We are sad to inform you that the City of Langford has decided to endorse the exploitation of animals by hosting horse carriage tours in their city over the holiday season.
These are the same horse carriage companies that force their horses to work in unsafe conditions in nearby Victoria, create traffic risks and accidents, and lie to the public, police, and media about their operations.
The city of Victoria has failed to take any responsibility for regulating this exploitative industry, or holding the carriage companies accountable for their disreputable behaviour. In turn, they are allowed to exploit animals without any public oversight, or reasonable regulation.
City of Langford mayor and council, sensible and concerned citizens don't want vulnerable animals on your city streets amongst motor vehicles, unnecessarily creating a safety risk to the public and the animals for people's amusement. Please end your endorsement of horse carriage tours in your city this holiday season in favour of creative, fun, and safe activities that don't exploit animals.
Supporters please contact Langford mayor Stew Young and fellow city councillors and ask them to stop endorsing horse carriage tours this holiday season and animal exploitation in Langford!
