Veterans fight for us overseas don’t make them come home and fight for a safe home.

Veterans fight for us overseas don’t make them come home and fight for a safe home.
The Issue
My husband , CSM (Ret.) Ethan Hughes United States Army and I were just married. We should be enjoying the bliss of our new life together in our first home. Instead, we're facing an overwhelming and heartbreaking reality. I only did our system that he thought 21 1/2 years to protect failed us. They actually put us in harms way. The inspections meant to protect veterans like us failed in this crucial duty. VA loan inspectors are supposed to be the last line of defense for ensuring that the properties veterans invest in are safe, stable, and worth the investment. Instead, it feels as if corners have been cut and our well-being has been disregarded. The impact of this negligence is not just financial. It's emotional, as we fear for our safety and the future of our investment. It is not just us; many veterans across the nation are facing similar situations. Inspections are supposed to bring us peace of mind, not anguish. We are calling for a stricter accountability framework for VA loan inspectors. Inspections should be thorough, transparent, and connect to clear consequences for oversight or malpractice. We need a regulatory body that ensures veteran home purchases are secure, and that failure or negligence on the inspectors' part is addressed timely and effectively. Let's come together to protect veterans and their families from flawed property investments. We owe it to those who have served our country to ensure their homes provide a safe haven instead of financial despair. Please join us in demanding changes to the current inspection and accountability processes in VA loans to prevent further harm to veterans and their families. Sign this petition to advocate for comprehensive reforms that cater to the safety and peace of mind of those who have served our nation. Together, we can hold the VA accountable and bring about necessary change.
