Jim Baird is an American businessman and politician representing Indiana's 4th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2019. A dedicated member of the Republican Party, Baird previously served in the Indiana House of Representatives from 2010 to 2018 and was a Putnam County commissioner between 2006 and 2010. He holds a Bachelor's and Master's in Animal Science from Purdue University and a Doctorate in Animal Science (Monogastric Nutrition) from the University of Kentucky. Baird's diverse career includes roles as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, owner of Indiana Home Care Plus, and director positions at Landmark Cooperative Swine and Agmax. He has also contributed as an Agriculture and Community Development Agent at Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service.
