Thanks to all those who have supported this petition in last five weeks.  We now have over 1,500 supporters and over 60,000 people have viewed the petition. There has been very useful feedback, which I hope will increase the range of people who can join us. .

Harm to our children - harm to our environment.

From feedback, I have realised that some people are mainly concerned about the harm to children, whilst others are more concerned about the harm to the environment, from the dumping of  vapes.  Single-use vapes have hard to recycle plastic and lithium batteries which can explode and cause fires. By addressing these two issues we can win this battle.

If we are to be successful in getting politicians to completely banning single-use vaping products, then immediately that will improve the lives of our children. It will prevent children from addiction to Nicotine. It also address the problem of 1.3 million vapes being dumped every week in the UK.

I am not naive enough to believe that the illegal trade in single-use vapes will not continue. Let’s be realistic, the sooner we legislate to ban these products, the sooner children and their parents will get the message, that this is one form of drug addiction we must get rid of.  The environmental damage should then vanish.
