Our laws on vaping are ineffective, so selling vaping products has now become normalised. The Sainsbury’s display in the photo above, clearly portrays the highly addictive vapes, loaded with nicotine, as being no more dangerous, than shaving products and tooth paste. This is outrageous marketing tactic, and is totally against the requirement that we should not be encouraging children to smoke or vape.

This supermarket isle display, is open to anyone, child or adult to pick up, study and choose what vaping product they want, including the single-use vapes that this petition is about.

Although these products are legally age restricted at 18,  any child could pick up and make their choice of vapes and get someone over 18 to buy it for them, at the self-service tills.

Because this display of all vapes is not at the Tobacco counter, there is not even the legally required large sign stating it is illegal to sell to anyone under the age of 18.

Even more disturbing is that the range of Velo products which are pouches of nicotine to be placed in your mouth to get your nicotine hit. These have been banned for years in most countries in the world. British American Tobacco,(BAT),  frequently works with young British Instagram influencers to promote pouch brands.

I have asked the Consumer Standards Authority to investigate this matter. It would be helpful if others also registered such a complaint.
