Continued Bus Service for Carleton Elementary School in East Vancouver

Continued Bus Service for Carleton Elementary School in East Vancouver
The Issue
In 2016 there was a fire in the attic of Sir Giy Carleton Elementary School in East Vancouver. The students and staff were moved to the physical site of another school where we have been for the last 4 years.
In those 4 years the Vancouver School Board has paid for a school bus to take the students from the old school site to the new one and back again to support the families of the students who don't have vehicles and relied on the school as it was in walking distance and scheduling issues with their work.
In those 4 years the Vancouver School Board has also made no plans for the old school site and has made no repairs despite the students and families that live in the catchment and the incoming construction that will bring more families in the future.
In those 4 years the Vancouver School Board has also done nothing to communicate their plans for the school site or lack there of.
Then at the end of this school year, the families of Carleton were notified that they would be blending the classes of Carleton with the school with which they share a temporary physical site with. They also notified the us that they would be suspending bus service from the old site to the new one "as they have no plans to repair the fire damage".
This is the first we have heard that they will not be repairing it AND that they are no longer supporting us with the bus.
This lack of support and communication is egregious at best and we demand from the Vancouver School Board to reinstate the bus service and make their plans for the school known as the Carleton catchment needs a school to provide education to the children in that area.
