Valley Court, Woodford: stop the three storey build NOW

Valley Court, Woodford: stop the three storey build NOW
The Issue
Sign this petition to help stop the construction of an upward extension to our existing building at Valley Court, 38 Cavendish Avenue, Woodford IG8 9DB
A developer has made an application to build a one-storey upward extension to the second floor at the back of our flats (3 new one-bed flats). More information about the proposal can be found here: https://planning.redbridge.gov.uk/redbridge/application-details/193440
We oppose the proposal and are collecting signatures of support to present to the Council, to show support from local residents. Please sign today. Our deadline is 7 December.
Why does this matter?
1) Proposed second floor flats overlook homes in Warley Road and Beverley Crescent. They will significantly reduce privacy for our neighbours.
2) The extension has bay windows that overhang existing flats and reduce their daylight. It is not in keeping with our existing building.
3) This application does not offer affordable housing, and one-bed flats are not suitable accommodation for families.
4) Proposed refuse storage is impractical. It could result in rubbish left outside, leading to smells, litter and vermin.
5) Existing residents will experience disruption and noise, lack of privacy and loss of light once new flats are built.
6) Our building and foundations were not designed for upward extension. Residents have had cracks in ceilings when a previous additional storey was added. We have good cause to expect that this will happen again.
Please sign today - we need as much local support as we can get. Thank you very much.
