Kayastha Community rejects Reservation

Kayastha Community rejects Reservation
The Issue
What is common among Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Swami Vivekanda and Khudiram Bose?
They all belonged to the Kayastha community.
Kayastha community is an ancient sanatani community of Bharat. The distinct feature of this community is that Kayasthas are highly educated. They say that pen is mightier than the sword and this is apt for this learned community.
They are called Brahmakhsatriyas and hence, are adept at both the academics as well as skills of the sword.
Periodically, India has witnessed great many Kayastha rulers from the modern Kashmir to down Southern India.
From Lalitaditya Muktapida to the Palas, from the Satvahanas to the Chalukyas, they have been rulers time and again.
Kayasthas are valued for their knowledge and humility.
Kayasthas, being the torchbearers in the field of education, and pioneers in scientific and social research, have always believed in equality for all.
We do not endorse caste-based reservation but rather root for affirmative action for the economically marginalised.
As such, the newly suggested inclusion of Kayasthas in the OBC (Other Backward Castes) list by the Uttar Pradesh government does not align with the views and the ideals held by the Kayastha community.
Those members of the community who are financially disadvantaged can make use of the EWS system for the General category.
Hence, we do not need any caste-based reservation.
It should also be noted that we had not demanded for any reservation in the first place and such affirmative actions should be granted to the communities that are actually fighting for the same.
We aim for balance, equality and a quest for a better India.
We kindly request the UP government and the Backward Commission to not include Kayasthas in the OBC list for UP.
Our pen is our weapon.
