It’s truly inspiring to see the Owings Mills/New Town community come together in support of an initiative that can bring lasting, positive change to our neighborhoods. However, we still have work to do. There are nearly 5,000 residents in the Owings Mills/New Town area, yet our petition currently has just 660 signatures. That means less than 15% of our community has spoken up so far. If we want potential food providers to take this area seriously, we must do better. In the last update, I shared the purpose of this petition: 1. To demonstrate to potential food providers that investing in our community will yield a strong and sustainable return. 2. To show that we are a community that values both our environment and access to proper, healthy food sources as essential to our well-being. Your continued support is vital. Please keep signing and sharing this petition—the more voices we gather, the stronger our case becomes. Together, we can convince food providers to bring not only their businesses but also economic growth, jobs, and healthier options to our community. In addition, we are forming the Owings Mills/New Town Citizens Committee (OMNTCC)—a dedicated team that will serve as the boots on the ground, advocating for the changes our community needs and deserves. So far, only four people have stepped up to be part of the OMNTCC. I know we can do better. This is our chance to shape the future of our neighborhood and ensure it reflects our shared values and needs. If you’re ready to be part of a movement that makes a real, measurable impact, I invite you to join us. 📧 Email: we.can.reimagine.more@gmail.com Thank you for your continued support and commitment to building a stronger, healthier Owings Mills/New Town. – Tyrod Haynes Baltimore County Legislative District 11A Representative
