It’s inspiring to see the Owings Mills/New Town community come together in support of an initiative that can bring lasting, positive change to our neighborhoods.
That said, we still have work to do. With nearly 5,000 residents in Owings Mills/New Town, our petition currently has 640 signatures. We must do better if we want food providers to take our community seriously.
As I mentioned in the last update, the purpose of this petition is twofold:
1. To demonstrate to potential food providers that investing in our community will yield a strong and sustainable return.
2. To show that we are a community that values both our environment and access to proper, healthy food sources as an essential part of our well-being.
Your continued support is vital. Please keep signing and sharing this petition—the more voices we gather, the stronger our case becomes. Together, we can bring not only new food options to our community, but also economic growth and healthier choices for everyone.
I’m also excited to announce the formation of the Owings Mills/New Town Citizens Committee (OMNTCC). This group will serve as the boots on the ground, advocating for the changes our community needs and deserves. If you’re ready to be part of a movement that makes a real impact, I invite you to join us.
