Urgent Action Needed: Resume SI in Delhi Police and CAPF Recruitment Process and Conduct Detailed Medical Examination Without Further Delay
We, the candidates of the SSC CPO 2024 recruitment process, are writing to raise our collective voice regarding the unreasonable delay in the final stages of the selection process — specifically the detailed medical examination — which remains indefinitely stalled due to internal mismanagement and unresolved legal matters.
Since the release of the notification on December 2023, we have followed every step of the process with dedication and discipline. The timeline, as per SSC’s own official schedule, included:
1. Application Begin – 04/03/2024
2. Last Date to Apply Online – 28/03/2024 (up to 11 PM)
3. Fee Payment Last Date – 29/03/2024
4. Correction Window – 30–31 March 2024
5. Paper I Exam Date – 27–29 June 2024
6. Paper I Answer Key Available – 05/07/2024
7. Paper I Result Declaration – 02/09/2024
8. Marks for Paper I Available – 24/10/2024
9. PET/PST Result Declared – 03/02/2025
10. Paper II Exam Date – 08/03/2025
11. Paper II Exam City Available – 27/02/2025
12. Paper II Answer Key Released – 12/03/2025
13. Revised PET/PST Result (after litigation) – 22/04/2025
14.Additional 144 candidates Paper II exam - 30/04/2025
15. Additional Candidates' Paper II Answer Key – 05/05/2025
In 2023, all these procedures were completed within just 10 months. The primary reason was the Commission’s last-minute declaration of 144 candidates as "unfit" just three days before Paper II. Several among these candidates had, in fact, met the physical standards, including the mandatory 162.5 cm height requirement. This led to legal battles, court proceedings, and a litigation-induced freeze on the recruitment process.
While we understand the need for fairness, transparency, and compliance with legal procedures, it is now abundantly clear that waiting endlessly for further dates is doing more harm than good. As the next court hearing is scheduled for 24 September 2025, which means there is no chance of progress until then — unless we collectively take initiative and demand immediate attention. We believe the delay is due to ongoing litigation involving the Commission and BSF. The next court hearing is on September 24th, and we fear the Commission might wait until then to release the Mains result.
Meanwhile, SSC CGL 2024 (notification dated 24june 2024) and other newer recruitments are already well underway. It is both illogical and unjust that a recruitment process which started much earlier is being indefinitely delayed — without accountability and without any communication to the thousands of candidates who have invested time, energy, and hope into this opportunity.
Who is accountable to us — DoPT, SSC, MHA, Delhi High Court, or the Nodal Agency?
This delay is affecting our:
- Mental health and well-being
- Preparation for other competitive exams
- Career planning and stability
- Confidence and trust in public recruitment processes
We are not just aspirants. We see ourselves in uniform committed to serving the nation as Subordinate Officers. We will be part of premier organizations like BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB & CISF. Yet, our future is being pushed into uncertainty because of administrative lapses and prolonged silence.
We hereby demand the following:
1.Immediate update from the SSC and concerned departments regarding the current status of the medical examination.
2.Conduct of the medical examination for eligible candidates who appeared for Paper II without further delay.
3.Public communication from the Commission outlining a clear and time-bound plan to complete the recruitment process.
3.Accountability for the mismanagement that led to this crisis and preventive measures to avoid such issues in the future.
We urge every candidate, concerned citizen, and authority to stand with us. It is no longer useful to wait for more dates and continue procrastinating. The time to act is now. Let us come together and move this process forward — not just for ourselves, but for the integrity of the system and the future of forces.
