Urge UN to maintain support in Syria

Urge UN to maintain support in Syria
The Issue
"We don't do anything...We are just waiting for our death with all kinds of death" - Abdal Karim, journalist in NW Syria as he talks about the situation
Thousands of people in Northwest Syria are heavily reliant on aid from the UN for essential needs such as food and medication. Many other aid agencies have left this area months ago, leaving these with limited resources and support. This assistance has been a lifeline.
Northwest Syria is home to approximately 4 million people, many of whom are internally displaced persons (IDPs). According to reports by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), over 2.7 million IDPs rely on humanitarian aid in this region alone. This includes essential medical supplies and food provisions that are currently being provided by the UN.
The cessation of this support would result in a catastrophic humanitarian crisis, leaving millions without access to basic necessities. We cannot afford for this situation to occur; too many lives are at stake.
Currently, they have stopped operations at 18 hospitals (8 of which were specialized for women and children) they are expected to stop operations at 112 facilities by the end of May 2024, and 136 hospitals/facilities by the end of the year. This will have a devastating impact on those in the region. This will impact health, costs of medications, costs of food, and lives. This will impact maternal health, and infant and child health to mention some of the impact. Please sign and share.
Please sign this petition today and help us ensure that these vital lifelines remain open for those who need them most.
