I am a dedicated player and lover of the vast gaming universe. Lately, I have observed an abundance of well-crafted maps that, in my opinion, deserve the coveted 'Classic' status. Unfortunately, these masterpieces often remain overlooked by TMX Staff, which is why I bring forward this petition. Last year alone, over a thousand new maps were created, some by experienced game designers, some by novices trying their hand for the first time. Each one has its own unique charm and challenge and some among them truly capture the essence of what makes a game enjoyable - a fine balance between challenge and charm. However, out of these, a glaringly low number - less than five percent - were ever bestowed with the 'Classic' status (TMX Annual Report, 2020). This selection rate doesn't reflect the true quality or the hard work put into these creations, and it's disheartening for the creators themselves. Hence, this petition is an appeal to the TMX Staff to reconsider their selection criteria, to thoroughly evaluate these new maps, and to acknowledge the splendid work done by creators by giving them the recognition of a 'Classic' status.
