Democracy globally, and in Africa specifically, is under siege. In these challenging times, Ghana has emerged as a beacon of hope, staunchly preserving democratic values and lighting the path for other nations. This, is deeply personal to me and many others who treasure the sanctity of democracy.

One key aspect of this struggle is the Herculean efforts of individuals who, despite the dangers they face, step forward to safeguard our democracy. One such hero is Kevin Ekow Taylor. This gentleman, undeterred by threats to his life and those of his families, have committed themselves to the democratic fabric of Ghana.

Their tireless contributions have been pivotal in propelling Ghana as a democratic compass for Africa. Their invaluable dedication reflects in Ghana's ranking by the Economist Intelligence Unit's Democracy Index, where we're among the only six "Free" African states - out of a total of 54.

Sadly, guardians of democracy are not accorded the global recognition they deserve. We urge the United Nations and governments worldwide to acknowledge the impacts of Kevin Taylor on the democratic dispensation of Ghana.
