Urge the President of the U.S.A to reconsider imposed tariffs
The Issue
The Great Depression 2.0. The Tariffs. The Second Coming of Donald J. Trump.
He’s dragging America into a war we can’t win — a war that doesn’t build, only breaks. A war of tariffs, of reckless economic policy, of blind pride disguised as patriotism. And it’s the everyday people who will pay the price
Welcome to the Great Trade War.
Trump’s tariffs are not saving America — they’re sabotaging it. Inflation is rising. People are losing jobs — not just because of crypto chaos or AI automation, but because of outdated ideas and a president clinging to a fantasy of “bringing manufacturing back.” He isn’t a working-class hero. He’s a billionaire elitist born with a gold spoon in his mouth.
Our supply chains were already fragile. These tariffs just made them worse. You can’t fix the economy by punching holes in it.
Prices are rising on everything — food, school supplies, electronics. The burden falls on students, workers, families. Local businesses can’t keep up with rising material costs. Layoffs are happening. Essentials are becoming luxuries.
According to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, tariffs are costing the average American household $831 a year (NY Times, May 23, 2019). That’s rent. That’s groceries. That’s stability. And the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has warned about the long-term damage this will do to jobs and the economy (U.S. Chamber, June 7, 2019).
We’re already living in a world stretched thin — still reeling from COVID-19, with housing prices through the roof, student debt climbing, and a job market that’s changing faster than we can adapt. Instead of easing the pressure, these policies are stacking more weight on our backs.
We can’t sit by and let this happen. We may not be in power — but we still have a voice. And we can use it.
This is our future. Our economy. Our fight.
Reject the tariffs. Protect the people. Demand better.
