The signature dish of Le Saint Amour, a French brasserie in Culver City, is foie gras. The production of foie gras involves force-feeding ducks and geese several times a day by shoving a tube down their throats – the animals suffer from a painful illness that causes their liver to swell up to ten times their natural size.

Despite having received information on the cruelty of foie gras by the nonprofit organization ”Animal Protection and Rescue League”, the restaurant is currently advertising foie gras for LA Restaurant Week, as well as on their Valentine's Day menu.
