Urge Mech Arena to Rehaul the Mods Feature and Lower In-Game Prices/Implant Removal Fees
The Issue
As a devoted fan of Mech Arena, I've been witness to the escalating frustration among players due to the newly introduced Mods feature and rising in-game prices. The updated game mechanics have affected not just me, but numerous devoted players who rely on this game as an escape from real-life hardships and depression, and an way to create local game discord communities.
Similar to a multitude of gamers engaging with the platform, I have been taken aback by the overpriced mechs, weapons, pilots, implants, and now mods. With the launch of these new Mod features that cost several hundreds of euros to maximise, many players feel the urge to quit the game or sell their accounts, highlighting the level of discontent that the new update has sparked. Facing bots with maxed out mechs, weapons, pilots, implants and now mods, the game has tripled the squad power in the top tier (from 6k in 2021, to 13k in 2023, to now 23k squad power with maxed mods) and created an endless scheme for top players who have spent thousands since the launch of the game in august 2021.
Contrary to Mech Arena, some games like Fortnite and NBA2k have an extensive catalog of items in their shop every season, others like Brawl Stars offer special promotional items every few weeks. These methods allow these games to create numerous revenue streams without disrupting game mechanics or overcharging the players. Mech Arena can choose these approaches that do not hurt the fundamental game mechanics, by focusing on selling skins, weapons, characters or accessories used in the game, but not breaking the game. By doing so, Plarium would align itself with video game industry standards, generate better revenue streams, while preserving the players' interests, preserving the fan community passion and avoid creating addictive casino-like game mechanics that are heavily regulated or penalised by US or EU administrations (e.g. EA Fifa games, Star wars games...).
This petition calls for Mech Arena to reconsider their recent Mods update by reducing mod costs, decrease the in-game prices to a more reasonable scale, and cancel the pilot implant removal fee. We hope that through these actions, the game we love can continue to serve as a meaningful escape for many who need it. Sign this petition to influence Mech Arena's future updates and fairness toward their player base.
