Urge Brisbane School of Distance Education to Retain Collaborate
The issue
I am personally affected by Brisbane School of Distance Education's decision to move from Collaborate to Teams next year. Not only does Teams lag considerably, it also significantly hinders the focus, ultimately leading to poor grades. With Collaborate, we have a productive learning environment that promotes better focus and thus better academic results. Moreover, Teams lacks crucial features that are vital to us reaching our full potential.
Contrarily, Collaborate provides a comprehensive set of tools that truly support remote learning. It is more than just a platform; it is a catalyst to our academic growth. Based on a study conducted by EDUCAUSE Centre for Analysis and Research, students who have adequate access to interactive digital tools, like those offered by Collaborate, are 28% more likely to report that they are satisfied with their learning experiences (ECAR, 2018).
We understand that changes, big or small, affect the learning experience and academic performance of every student. Therefore, this decision should be reconsidered. We urge the Brisbane School of Distance Education to rethink their choice and continue using Collaborate, not just for our education today but our future tomorrow.
