Urge BigHit to Address BTS' YouTube Shadowban

Urge BigHit to Address BTS' YouTube Shadowban
The Issue
BTS are globally recognized artists, known for breaking records, inspiring fans, and elevating Korean music on the world stage. Yet their content—particularly music videos and official uploads—has experienced the last years unexplained drops in visibility, views, and engagement, leading fans to believe they are being unfairly shadowbanned.
Shadowbanning, which refers to the hidden restriction of content by a platform without notification, is a serious issue. It reduces fan access, harms artist engagement, and distorts the organic popularity of content. This affects the fan experience and unfairly diminishes the recognition BTS has earned through years of artistic excellence.
The shadow ban doesn't only exist on the HYBE channel, but also on every official video (MV, performance,...) uploaded on other channels. Yet we see this filtering more on the HYBE channel. We believe that the traffic on the HYBE channel is also a problem and influences the algorythm.
We as fans tried to contact YOUTUBE multiple times, but we never got a clear answer. This is why we are reaching out to BigHit Music to take action.
As fans, we rely on platforms like YouTube to connect with BTS and support their work. We are calling on BigHit Music (HYBE) to formally investigate and address this issue with YouTube, to ensure transparency and fairness in how BTS’ content is treated. BTS' artistry deserves to be seen, heard, and celebrated without algorithmic interference. We urge BigHit to take immediate steps to protect BTS' digital presence and uphold the integrity of their global influence.
Sign this petition to stand up for fairness, visibility, and artistic respect. Let BTS be seen. Let BTS be heard.
Some of the millions of receips:
- Youtube deleted 40M streams from BTS' ON MV
- This issue is visible to any sensible person, including reactors...
- The view ratio of a BTS' MV and another artist's MV, on the same channel, don't make sense.
- 1M likes - 3M views
- Even performance videos, on other channels too.
We are not talking about a few thousand streams. The deleted streams, the blood sweat and tears of the artists and fans, go easliy up to 100M each time.
Fans all around the world are tired and want this problem to be solved. With every release we see the artists' effort being wasted because this system, and we hope the company can take action as soon as possible, since BTS is coming back soon and will release more Music in the future.
