Urge Baylor University to Reinstate the LGBTQ+ Ministry Research Grant
The Issue
Baylor University accepted a $643,000 grant to study how churches can better serve LGBTQ+ people and women — then gave it back under pressure.
The grant wasn’t about changing theology. It was about compassion, mental health, and helping churches reach people who are too often pushed out. It was also critical funding for students and researchers trying to complete their work.
By canceling the grant, Baylor sent a painful message: LGBTQ+ people don’t belong here, and neither does the research that affirms them.
We’re calling on President Linda Livingstone and Baylor’s leadership to reinstate the grant, support the students who depend on it, and stand up for academic freedom. A great Christian university doesn’t run from research — it leads with integrity.
Sign now if you believe Baylor can, and must, do better.
