Petition to Improve  Muirhouse Park Playpark/basketball court

We, the undersigned, call on the relevant authorities to invest in the refurbishment and modernisation of Muirhouse Park Playpark/basketball court, which has been neglected for far too long.

For many years, this play park has seen little to no meaningful investment. Much of the equipment is outdated, worn, and no longer meets the needs of local children and families. Every child deserves access to a safe, inclusive, and stimulating place to play, yet our community has been left behind.

A well-maintained play park is more than just a place to play. It encourages children to be active, improves physical and mental wellbeing, supports social development, and brings families together. It also helps create a stronger, healthier community.

We are asking for:

New, modern play equipment suitable for children of all ages and abilities.
Repairs or replacement of damaged and ageing equipment.
Improved accessibility for children with disabilities.
Better seating, bins, lighting, and landscaping to create a welcoming environment for everyone.
Our children should not have to travel to other areas to enjoy a safe and enjoyable playground. They deserve a play space that reflects the pride and potential of our community.

We urge the council and the Scottish Parliament to prioritise funding for the redevelopment of [Play Park Name] and ensure local families have the quality facilities they deserve.
