Upgrade facilities at Kingsway Sporting Complex

Upgrade facilities at Kingsway Sporting Complex
The issue
Playing netball has always been a passion of mine, but the experience has been marred by the outdated and inadequate facilities at the City of Wanneroo Kingsway Sporting Complex. Each time I attend with anticipation and enthusiasm, I am met with broken toilet seats, non-functioning taps, and amenities that simply cannot accommodate the number of players, spectators, and officials. I am aware that I am not alone in my frustration and in the desire for change—a sentiment shared by many in our community.
Netball courts 28-57 have seen countless matches and have become a vibrant part of our community's sporting life; yet, the facilities that support these courts are often out of order, unclean, and unprepared to handle the number of people who use them regularly. Many have experienced the discomfort and inconvenience first-hand, and there is a dire need for either a new facilities block or an upgrade to the current amenities that can accommodate the needs of everyone involved.
The current state of the facilities not only hinders enjoyment but also could possibly deter potential new players and spectators from participating. This is not just about convenience, but also about ensuring all of us in the Kingway and wider Wanneroo areas have safe, sanitary, and adequate facilities. Proper facilities play a crucial role in encouraging more members of the community to partake in sports and lead healthier lifestyles. It's essential to create welcoming environments where people can focus on the sport and camaraderie, instead of worrying about poorly managed amenities.
I urge the City of Wanneroo authorities to take immediate action in either building a new facilities block or upgrading the existing ones at the Kingsway Sporting Complex. With visionary planning, we can make the necessary changes that enhance the overall experience for everyone involved, from the players and spectators to the dedicated club officials. By signing this petition, you’ll help us show the local authorities just how many people care and want to see improvement. Together, we can push for a positive change that benefits our entire sports community.
