UPenn: Reject Trump’s Dangerous Compact for Academic Excellence

The Issue

The Trump administration is asking UPenn to sign a political compact in exchange for more federal funding. But the deal would require the university to give up key values like fair admissions, inclusion, and student rights.

The compact would ban race and gender from admissions, limit international students, control how gender is recognized on campus, and restrict student protests.

UPenn should not have to choose between money and academic freedom.

We call on UPenn’s leadership to reject this compact before the November 21 deadline. Stand with students, faculty, and alumni—and protect what UPenn stands for.
