Updated child support obligation law.

Updated child support obligation law.

The Issue

The current law regarding child support is ridiculously out dated. Single Mothers everywhere are in the trenches 24/7 with their children. The dead beat Dads are living there lives as if they have not a care in the world. There only responsibility is to write a check once a week until the child turns 21 and then they are done with there share of the responsibility.

This is completely absurd. It takes love and responsibility to raise a child, and let's not forget money and lots of it. Being a single mother myself for all of my Childs life and the absent parent was only responsible for a mere $20.00 a week. Sure the weekly amount has changed through out the years. Ranging for nothing at all to maybe $30.00 dollars a week. I spent more then $ 20.00 a week in diapers a week and formula. Now my child is going to be eighteen years old next month  which means two more years and he is done, finished with his part of the responsibility. What about college and a first car? Let's not forget clothing and school books etc. She never got to have a sweet sixteen birthday and with to days economy odds are she will not be getting a eighteenth birthday eighteen. The reality is that she is his responsibility to as are the millions of fatherless children in the world. The money just isn't there for her to have something that we all get to have once in our life.

This law needs to be updated and enforced. Children need both parents to help them get a chance for success in life. These dead beat dads need to be apart of the lives they helped create to the end.

We as women need to use our voices and get the legal obligation raised from 21 to the life span the child.

The reality is there is no cut off date for parents. You are a parent for life and the law should enforce this as well.
