Update Skyrim VR and Fallout 4 VR to Meet 2024 Standards

The Issue

Bethesda Game Studios, renowned for their immersive virtual reality (VR) games, have given us unforgettable experiences with Skyrim VR and Fallout 4 VR. However, these games were released in 2017 and 2018 respectively, and the technology has since advanced significantly. As of now in the year 2024, these beloved titles are falling behind current industry standards.

Newer VR systems offer higher resolution displays, improved tracking accuracy, better motion control support among other advancements that greatly enhance the player's immersion into the game world. In addition, various systems such as manual reloading, full body IK (inverse kinematics) and detailed physics interaction, have become commonplace in modern VR games. Unfortunately, Skyrim VR and Fallout 4 VR do not fully utilize these improvements, whether due to incompetence, laziness, or a mix of both. The state of the games are frankly embarrassing, especially when the games cost $60 compared to the base games' $40 and $20 for Skyrim Special Edition and Fallout 4, respectively.

By updating these games to meet current standards, Bethesda can provide a more immersive experience for players while also demonstrating their commitment to staying at the forefront of gaming technology.

We urge Bethesda Game Studios to revisit Skyrim VR and Fallout 4 VR with an update that brings them up-to-date with current technological advancements in virtual reality gaming. Please sign this petition if you agree that our favorite worlds deserve a modern touch!
