Tuition Refund/Reduction
The Issue
University tuition has been a long-standing issue in the past year of 2020 with an ongoing pandemic. As students, we have understood that it wasn't an easy task for the university to move everything to an online system. However, it has been nearly a year since the COVID-19 breakout, and most students such as myself do not feel that we are getting a fair trade from the university's side for the money we are spending on our education. We also understand that it takes a lot of money to keep such a big facility running which is why we are not asking for a full refund. This petition is a chance for all the students to get at least 50% back from our tuition until classes in-person resume. At the start of the year 2020, we have only received $18 dollars back as compensation for bus use and other privileges that would be present during in-person classes. That amount doesn't cover the fact that education has been compromised, such as for those in science fields most of the laboratories are online. In the end, this petition is created for students to receive the education and/ or facility use that they paid for, by reducing the costs by 50%.
