Students, as part of their overall physical, social, and mental well-being, have had a March Break reading week since they started in elementary school. It is the predictable mark of the unofficial half-way point of the university school semester. Countless students use this week to return to their homes- whether it be near or far- to reconnect with their families, and share in home cooked meals and reunions. Many others have planned and saved for a more robust week off, with individual, group, or family vacations. Students, and their families, have worked, saved, and counted the days down for this week away from normal university life. Non-refundable airplane tickets, hotels, and an assortment of other deposits have been made as a part of their March Break plans. It is extremely dissapointing and upsetting to think that the university administration would unilaterally cancel the March Break for the first time ever in the history of the University of New Brunswick.

We want all students, parents, extended families, alumni, and friends to add thier support to reinstate the March Break. Why do the students have to pay for the situation that was not their doing- yet again? Why are the students carrying this burden when they had nothing to do with the decisions?
