The Mangroves acts as a buffer zone, protecting the coastal areas from devastating cyclones and also hosts huge Biodiversity. But the government is not concerned about the mangroves even though it protects us.

According to Government of India report, India lost more than 40% of its mangroves area during the last century. Given the importance of mangroves, it is highly necessary to assess the status and trends of mangroves at a country level for its restoration, management and conservation.

Mangroves are extremely important Bio-Resources which are crucial to the coastal environment, Mangroves are declining rapidly as they are getting degraded for agriculture, aquaculture, Tourism, Urban development, and over-exploitation.

Climate change is one of the most important environmental issue impacting Mangrovesin India.

The government should scale-up and invest more in these nature-based solutions to protect and save them.

 We need the Government to Consider the deforestation of the mangrove and save them
