Stop the human rights violation in the Tigray area of Ethiopia by the Federal forces
The Issue
Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy has vowed more airstrikes and the country is on the verge of civil war. It is the complete adverse of the reason for his receipt of the Nobel peace prize. His action is on the verge of creating yet another human travesty whereby refugees will be forced to cross the surrounding borders such as Sudan and Somalia, also creating a possible window for Al Shabab activity.
This petition is to seek to take preventative steps before the inevitable happens as mentioned above. It is envisaged that a unified united nation response can assist in persuading the Prime Minister to change his course of action given the destructive outcome to the country as a whole. It is anticipated that the alternative action will exemplify the reason for the prize awarded to him in the first place.
As an African from the diaspora, I have a sense of belonging and a sense of duty to take all preventative measures to secure the lives of the innocent especially at home on the continent. I strongly believe that actions such as the impending situation in Tigray only help to create the current loss of lives in the ocean as Africans seek to escape war and impoverishment. I strongly believe that a proactive response such as this petition can lead to a positive outcome.
