The Issue

This petition aims to spread information about how the human rights of the Uighurs in China are being violated, and to gather support for the ending of these violations. The Uighur Muslims in China are being treated in an inhumane, degrading, and neglectful manner. The Chinese government is currently expanding their country’s Uighur concentration camps and are increasing the rate at which they detain the Uighurs. Currently, there are over 85 identified concentration camps and at least one million Uighurs have been detained. The Chinese government claims that the Uighurs pose a threat to national security, and they are taking measures in an attempt to “control” the Uighur population. Uighur women are being forced to take birth control, have forced abortions, or be forcefully sterilized. These women are frequently subject to random pregnancy checks. Several human rights are being violated in this situation. First, all humans are born free and equal in dignity and in rights. Second, everyone is entitled to the rights presented in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights regardless of race, color, language, sex, political opinion, origin, and status. Third, everyone has the right to not be subjected to inhuman or degrading treatment, torture, or punishment. Also, nobody should be subjected to arbitrary detention, arrest, or exile. Sign this petition if you believe the violation of the Uighurs' human rights must come to an end. The solution to this issue starts with spreading awareness.
