KASHMIR SEEKS ATTENTION!
The Issue
Kashmir is located in the heart of Asia. It is one of the most sensitive state in the region as it is being located between three nuclear armed countries, regarded as heaven on earth. However it has been a battle ground between India and Pakistan for last 70 years. This all started when Britishers left the subcontinent creating two new states namely Pakistan and India and all the princely states were given a choice either to join India or Pakistan or remain independent. The Maharaja of Kashmir without the will of Kashmiris acceded to India. People of Kashmir revolted against this accession and took control of various cities which is now regarded as Azad Kashmir. Then Pakistan army took control of Azad Kashmir and a line known as Line Of Control (LOC) was drawn. For more than 70 years there have been violations of the ceasefire which end up killing the civilians on the both sides. As CNN report; Between 2008 and 2019, 4,427 people were killed in separatist violence, according to the Jammu and Kashmir Coalition of Civil Society, a human rights group. Between 1989 and 2008, more than 47,000 people were killed in separatist violence, according to the Indian government. Some human rights groups and nongovernmental organizations say the death toll is higher. Kashmir remained underdeveloped state and the people of Kashmir are living under the the fear of death every now everyday because of this Conflict.
Kashmir issue is under UN Security Council resolution number 47. Yet for last 70 years there is no progress in this regard and the price is being paid by the Kashmiris every now and then. For past 1 year Indian occupied Kashmir is under curfew and people are being humiliated, killed, denied of human Rights and are denied the access to internet as well.
We demand a peaceful dialogue between the two countries to resolve this Kashmir issue. People of Kashmir should not be denied of their right of self determination. During this negotiations, UN must Ceasefire across the LOC and Indian Army should lift up the curfew and give the people of Kashmir their basic Human rights. Indian Army must stop Killing innocent Kashmiris.
