I am a resident of Hempstead, NY and a passionate user of TikTok. This platform has provided me with endless entertainment and a sense of community that I cherish deeply. Recently, our beloved app was banned in our area due to concerns over data privacy. While these concerns are valid, it's important to note that many other social media platforms collect similar amounts of user data without facing the same restrictions.

TikTok has more than 100 million users in the U.S alone (source: Wall Street Journal) and is an essential platform for creative expression for many people like me in Hempstead. The ban on this app not only limits our freedom to express ourselves but also cuts us off from an important source of joy and connection.

We understand the need for data security but believe there can be measures put into place that protect user information without completely banning the platform. We urge those with decision-making power to reconsider this ban and find a solution that respects both personal privacy and freedom of expression.
