Unban Kaspersky from the United States

The Issue

For many years, my family and I have trusted Kaspersky antivirus to keep our computers and devices safe. It has been our digital shield, protecting sensitive information for everyone in our household, including older family members who are not very tech-savvy. Because we paid for this software and believe in its protection, I am really upset by the sudden ban on Kaspersky in the United States.

The government banned Kaspersky in federal agencies over fears it could be used by Russian government to spy. But these fears are mostly based on suspicion, not on clear proof. Independent security experts regularly test Kaspersky and find no evidence it is used for spying or backdoors. Plus, Kaspersky has worked hard to be transparent, sharing its source code and inviting outside audits to prove its trustworthiness.

If the government is worried, why not apply same rules to many other tech companies with foreign ties? Many international firms operate freely despite possible risks. The blanket ban on Kaspersky feels unfair and ignores the real facts about its strong protection.

I understand the need for national security, but we should also look at real evidence that Kaspersky is transparent and careful about privacy. For example, their Global Transparency Initiative lets outside experts check their code and security practices to build trust.

People like me who understand risks and want to choose our own tools should have freedom, not be told what to use by fear alone.
