Caribbean People For #NetNeutrality

The Issue

#NetNeutrality evens the online playing field between Caribbean-American consumers/creators and big corporations. Net neutrality protects us from internet service providers (ISPs) like Verizon from charging customers access to sites that we use in our everyday lives. For example, do you like watching MajahHype, ThatDudeMcfly, Prnc_Charming and others on Youtube? If net neutrality gets rolled back, Verizon would be able to charge YOU AND THOSE CREATORS to even use Youtube. Here’s another example: do you need to communicate with or easily send money back to your family in the Caribbean? Facebook, IG, Twitter, Whatsapp, Western Union and Paypal would also be vulnerable!

As a son of immigrants I am shocked that the new chairman of the FCC, Ajit Pai, would even think this would be okay, especially for New Americans and the other immigrant communities here. Let’s remind Mr. Pai about the struggles of immigrants and let the FCC know that Caribbean people will NOT stand for the rolling back of #netneutrality.
