Gwen Berry placed 3rd in the hammer throw during the Olympic trials, giving her a spot to represent this great nation in the 2021 Olympics. Instead of being proud to be an American she decided to turn her back on the flag during the National Anthem. To Gwen Berry her opinions are more important than representing this country at the highest level. The Olympics is a time for our country to come together not continue to grow apart. I started this petition in hopes that our higher ranking officials will remove her from the team and select another participate who will be honored to represent our nation proudly, and to show everyone else in this world that when it comes down to it we are all proud of this country and we stand together. I hope that regardless of which side you lean we can all agree that we want our athletes to leave politics out and to just represent our country with respect and honor especially on the world stage.
