Most Americans do not support U.S. military strikes against Iran.

According to a March 10, 2026 New York Times analysis citing Reuters/Ipsos and Fox News polling, public support for the Iran attacks ranges between just 27% and 50%.

Even the highest figure falls far below the overwhelming backing presidents historically received at the start of major conflicts.

The New York Times also notes that Gallup polling showed 97% approval after Pearl Harbor, 92% at the start of the Afghanistan War, and 76% at the beginning of the Iraq War. Today, there is no such national consensus.

Americans are wary of another prolonged conflict. We have seen how quickly limited strikes can escalate. We know the human cost, the financial burden, and the long-term consequences of open-ended military engagement.

Before this conflict deepens, the American people deserve a clear strategy, defined objectives, and a serious public debate.

We call on President Trump to halt further military escalation with Iran, prioritize diplomacy, and avoid another drawn-out war.

The American people have spoken. It’s time to listen.
